A. Judging Process

(Awards: Best Live Performer / Impact Song of the Year / Best Lyrical Song / Best Trap Music / Best R&B Song / Best Alternative Hip Hop Song / Best  Hip Hop Song in Foreign Language / Best Collaboration Song / Best Single Director / Best MV / Best Cover Art)

First Round Judgement

• The Shortlist to the above awards to be chosen by Registered Voters (Public) and the Chairman’s Judging Panel, each accounting for 50% of the total scores in the first round of judging. The top 5 units in the first round of each category enters the final round.

• The first round of judging will be held on 2022/01/01 to 2022/01/15.

• Registered Voters have to be a legal resident of Hong Kong, registered and confirmed by the host on www.whatsgood.hk

• The Chairman’s Judging Panel is recommended and invited by our advisory board, from renowned local and foreign artists and professional media workers. In the case that the works by a member of the Chairman’s Judging Panel competes for a prize or enters the grand finale, he or she must not vote nor participate in any panels leading up to the vote.

• The Members of Chairman’s Judging Panel may not register as “Public Voters” or apply as “Hip Hop Artist Judges”.

• Nomination for each award may not exceed five, in the case that the fifth position is competed by two nominees with the same score, the final judgement will be made by the Chairman’s Judging Panel.

• If Songs, MV or nominees in the list fail to meet requirements, the nomination will be cancelled, to be fill by the nominee of the next highest score.

Final Round Judgement​

• To be chosen by “Registered Voters (Public)”, The “Hip Hop Artists Judges”, The “Professional Judges” and the “Chairman’s Judging Panel”, each making up 25% of the final scores for each award.

• The final round of judging will be held on 2022/01/16 to 2022/01/31.

• Members of the “Hip Hop Artists Judges” is chosen from Artists / Musicians / Producers / Cover Art Artists / MV Directors who have previously created Hip Hop and R&B Works in Hong Kong, upon their application and confirmation by the awards committee. This group of judges are expected to be made up of more than 100 members. A member whose work enters the finalist for Artists Awards/Song Awards/Production Awards will be immediately loses his or her position as a judge of the group.

• Members of the “Professional Judges” is recommended and invited by our advisory board from locally and internationally renowned professionals from various sectors. These members may not register as a “Registered Voter (Public)”.

• The “Hip Hop Artist Judges” and the “Professional Judges” may register and vote as public voters only for the first round of judging of Whats Good Music Awards 2022. As the process enters the final round, their rights as a public voter is automatically revoked and they will only be able to vote as member of these two groups.

• In the case that the top position is competed for by two units with the same score, the final award is to be chosen by the “Chairman’s Judging Panel” upon discussion and internal voting.
